ETHEREAL LUXURY BODY PIERCING
Studio Policies
At Ethereal, every piercing is approached individually, with your anatomy, comfort, jewellery and long-term healing in mind.
Please take a moment to read our studio policies before your appointment.
APPOINTMENTS
Appointments are required for all piercing services unless otherwise advertised.
Please arrive on time for your appointment. Arriving late may reduce the time available for your appointment or, where necessary, require your appointment to be rescheduled.
Please complete any required forms before your appointment.
IDENTIFICATION & CONSENT
Valid identification is required for every client.
For clients under 16, the required parent/guardian consent and identification must be provided. Additional identification may be requested where necessary.
If the required identification or consent cannot be provided, the piercing will not go ahead.
PIERCING FEES & JEWELLERY
Our piercing fee covers the professional piercing service, sterile setup and aftercare guidance.
Jewellery is charged separately.
Jewellery is selected in the studio based on your anatomy, piercing placement and the jewellery options available.
Our jewellery collection includes implant-grade titanium and selected 14k gold pieces.
LOST OR DAMAGED JEWELLERY
Jewellery that has been lost, misplaced or damaged after leaving the studio is not covered by the piercing fee.
Replacement jewellery is charged at the current studio price.
If you require assistance fitting replacement jewellery, a fitting/service fee may apply.
Jewellery supplied by Ethereal that is found to have a manufacturing fault will be assessed individually.
REMOVING YOUR JEWELLERY
Removing jewellery during the healing process can interrupt healing and may result in the piercing shrinking or closing.
If you choose to remove your jewellery, Ethereal cannot guarantee that the piercing will remain open.
If jewellery has been removed for an extended period, please do not attempt to force jewellery back through the piercing yourself.
The piercing must be assessed before any attempt at reinsertion.
REINSERTION & RE-PIERCING
If a piercing has narrowed but remains suitable for jewellery insertion, we may be able to assist with reinsertion.
If a piercing has closed or is no longer suitable for reinsertion, it may require re-piercing.
A new piercing fee and jewellery cost will apply where a new piercing is required.
Previous piercings are always assessed individually. We will never force jewellery through tissue.
DOWNSIZING & JEWELLERY CHANGES
Many piercings require a jewellery change or downsize once initial swelling has reduced.
Clients are encouraged to return for an assessment when advised.
Changing jewellery too early or without professional guidance may interfere with healing.
Where a jewellery change is required, the jewellery and any applicable service fee are charged separately.
AFTERCARE
Clients are provided with aftercare guidance following their piercing.
Healing times vary between individuals and piercing placements.
Following aftercare guidance is an important part of the healing process. Ethereal cannot guarantee a particular healing outcome, as healing can be affected by individual anatomy, lifestyle, jewellery, aftercare and other factors outside of our control.
If you have concerns about a healing piercing, please contact us before removing the jewellery.
ANATOMY & PIERCING SUITABILITY
Not every piercing is suitable for every anatomy.
Your anatomy will be assessed before the piercing is performed. Where we feel a particular placement is unsuitable or unlikely to heal appropriately, we may recommend an alternative placement or decline to perform the piercing.
Our priority is always the safety and long-term wellbeing of the piercing.
JEWELLERY PURCHASED ELSEWHERE
Jewellery purchased elsewhere may only be fitted where it is considered appropriate, safe and suitable for the piercing.
We reserve the right to decline fitting jewellery where its material, quality, design, condition or sizing cannot be verified or is considered unsuitable.
CHILDREN’S FIRST PIERCINGS
Children’s first piercings are offered from age 7+ where appropriate.
Parent/guardian consent and required identification must be provided.
Anatomy, maturity and the child’s ability to understand and participate in the process will be considered.
We reserve the right to decline a piercing if we do not feel it is appropriate on the day.
CANCELLATIONS & NO-SHOWS
Please provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or move your appointment.
Repeated cancellations, late cancellations or missed appointments may affect your ability to book future appointments and/or require a booking fee or deposit.
Any deposit or booking fee is subject to the terms provided at the time of booking.
REFUNDS
Piercing services that have already been carried out are non-refundable.
Jewellery returns, exchanges or refunds are subject to the condition of the jewellery and applicable consumer rights.
For hygiene and safety reasons, jewellery that has been worn or fitted cannot generally be returned for resale.
AFTERCARE & PROFESSIONAL ADVICE
Our advice is based on the information available to us at the time of your appointment.
If you experience persistent swelling, significant pain, unusual discharge, suspected infection or another concerning change, seek appropriate medical advice.
Please contact Ethereal if you are unsure about your piercing rather than removing or changing the jewellery without advice.
PROFESSIONAL BOUNDARIES
Ethereal reserves the right to refuse or discontinue a service where we believe it would be unsafe, unsuitable or inappropriate to proceed.
We will always aim to communicate this respectfully and explain the reason wherever possible.
Our policies exist to protect our clients, our jewellery and the professional standards of the studio.
